An IP66 RS485 PAR sensor measures real-time photosynthetically active radiation across the radiation range from 400 to 700 nm. Use in monitoring the PAR applications like environmental monitoring and agricultural research. Use the sensor with SenseCAP Data Logger for seamless data collection and management.
It measures real-time photosynthetically active radiation across the radiation range from 400 to 700 nm. It contains a Silicon photodetector and generates a voltage signal directly proportional to the PAR under the light source, making it widely applicable in industrial environmental sensing scenarios.
Sunlight has a tremendous impact on the lifecycle of almost all creatures on this planet. For plants as an example, light is a key factor in photosynthesis reaction that matters to their survival. Different species of plants, and even different growth stages of the same species would require different degrees of light duration, exposure, strength, and radiation range. Sensors are thus a useful tool to help effectively control essential parameters, like photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), contributing to the success of research or agricultural activities.
The industrial-grade PAR sensor monitors the PAR in environments with natural light sources across a radiation range from 400 to 700 nm and provides important parameters for researchers and farmers. When there’s light in, the sensor generates a voltage signal directly proportional to the PAR under the light source. You can obtain the measurement value in a unit of μmol/m2•s. The instrument supports the MODBUS-RTU RS485 protocol, you also can directly connect this PAR sensor with RS485 data loggers or digital voltmeters to create monitoring systems that meet your own demand.
This PAR sensor is robust with an IP66 enclosure and is able to withstand a wide range of temperatures from -30°C to 75°C, unlocking applications in harsh outdoor environments to support photosynthesis, solar, and ecological research, as well as the sensing in smart agriculture, greenhouse farming, tourism, meteorology, etc.
