Optimising Warehouse Management with UKIOT’s LoRaWAN IoT Sensors
UKIOT’s partnership with a leading logistics company to enhance operational efficiency and cost effectiveness within warehousing space.

Our customer is a leading logistics company that manages multiple warehouses across the globe. With rising energy costs and increasing operational complexity, the customer was searching for a solution to better monitor and optimise their warehouse conditions, to enhance both operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
UKIOT was asked to assist with this project after the customer evaluated several providers and we were selected due to our technical understanding combined with our comprehensive range of LoRaWAN IoT sensors that could seamlessly integrate with both the customer’s existing Building Management System (BMS) and AWS cloud platform.
The Challenge
Our customer faced challenges in maintaining optimal warehouse conditions, particularly regarding temperature control, air quality monitoring, and energy consumption. Without real-time visibility into these metrics, they were experiencing inefficiencies such as unnecessary heating or cooling, poor air quality, and increased power consumption due to lights and HVAC systems running when they were not needed. These inefficiencies were resulting in higher operational costs and a lack of precise control over their environment.
Solution
Real-Time Monitoring: LoRaWAN sensors have been supplied across multiple sites (in both the UK and Europe). The sensors provide real-time data on critical environmental factors such as temperature, air quality and door openings – enabling the customer to take immediate action as and when needed.
Integration with AWS and BMS: The LoRaWAN stack has been designed and set up to integrate into existing systems meaning that the customer can manage and control conditions from a single platform without needing to overhaul current controls infrastructure.
Energy Management Insights: A power consumption monitoring feature has been employed to identify areas where the customer is able to reduce waste and optimise energy usage, especially during off-peak hours or when sections of the warehouses are not in use.
Benefit
Since installing UKIOT’s solution, the customer has reported significant improvements. They have achieved an estimated 15% reduction in energy costs through better management of heating, lighting, and HVAC systems. Additionally, by optimising air quality and temperature control, they have improved working conditions for their employees, reducing downtime and increasing overall productivity.
Outcome
The customer has fed back that “UKIOT’s solution has been a game-changer for us. The ability to monitor real-time conditions and make automated adjustments has allowed us to significantly reduce our energy consumption and improve operational efficiency. The integration with our BMS and AWS platform was seamless, and the data insights we’ve gained are invaluable. We would highly recommend UKIOT to any company looking to optimise their operations. Their sensors are reliable, the integration is smooth, and the cost savings speak for themselves.”
Conclusion
This case study highlights how UKIOT’s advanced LoRaWAN IoT sensor solution helped our customer overcome their challenges and realise substantial savings. By delivering real-time monitoring and actionable insights, UKIOT has enabled the creation of a more energy-efficient and cost-effective warehouse environment.
